November 8, 2023: Assam Police on Wednesday issued an advisory on the bursting of firecrackers during the Diwali festive.
According to the notice, people will be allowed to burst only green crackers between 8 PM-10 PM. There will be a complete ban on bursting sound-emitting firecrackers between 10 PM-8 AM.
The sale of only Indian Origin green crackers is permissible. The license will be held liable if banned crackers are being found selling.
A day ago, the Supreme Court announced that the bursting of firecrackers would be banned across India. The 2018 order banning firecrackers will continue and shall be duly enforced.

The notice also read that during the Chatt Puja celebration, the crackers will be allowed to burst from 6 AM-8 PM and on Christmas and New Year celebrations, people will be allowed to burst the crackers from 11.55 PM-12.30 AM.
